Country and Bluegrass night

Fremont, CA

I spent most of the day in Hollister refereeing Power Wheelchar Soccer games. The drive back would have been about 2 hours, so I stopped in Fremont to join my dad for dinner. He took me to Mission Pizza and Pub where every Saturday night they have live bluegrass and country music. It was really good pizza and the music was rather impressive to.

As a side note, I HATE going to chain food establishments, but it is sometimes hard to find good food and good music at mom and pop shops. These guys did both.

Fairfield. CA

As Amy and I waited to see a movie tonight - we roamed around the mall. I'm a sucker for pictures of carousels.

There is a party over here a party over there

Antioch, CA

I got home from a date with Amy at 1 AM this morning. When I arrived, the party I was trying to avoid was still in full swing. It ended at about 2:45. I stayed up to help do the initial clean up (over 2/3 of the recycling cart is full of beer bottles). While the party was still going on I took this shot and those in BTC.

(There are 8 bottles of different types of Alcohol in this picture. Can you identify them?)

Jenga Stress

Oakley, CA

One of the more stressful aspects of my job is playing Jenga with a particular competitive client. Being a former English and Sociology major and not an engineering major...never quite sure when those blocks are going to tip over.

Poker winner

San Leandro, CA

I haven't played in like 8 months. I returned to the same table I used to play with. Usually I'm 5th one out. But not tonight. Tonight I went all the way. I beat Finn and Jonathan. It was awesome.

Keeping with my tradition of playing Wii at other people's houses, Ben & Alyssa invited me over for dinner tonight and we played this really cool game on their Wii.

Swing ride

Antioch, CA

I haven't been on a carnival or amusement park ride since John and I went to Train Town 6 years ago. Deep down, I've always wanted to be an employee of a traveling carnival. My mother suggested college instead. Some days I regret it.

over the rainbow and into a cake

Oakland CA

Last night at the concert I had the following conversation:

Ben - Happy Birthday Sean
me - Thanks but my birthday was 2 months ago.
Ben - Oh -- Well then why is my wife making a cake for you?
me - She mentioned on Facebook that she was making cakes and asked if any one would want one. You know how much I love your wife's cooking so I said why not. I'm bringing her some Green Velvet Cake as an exchange.
Ben - Oh. Okay.

Tonight at the concert (the top picture is Jenny Oaks Baker playing "Over the Rainbow"), Allysa gave me a cake (that is delicious). On the top of the cake reads "It's not your Birthday." I'm not sure if that is more for me or her Husband to realize.

Temple hill Symphony with Jenny Baker

Oakland, CA

(BTC - more Symph)
(BTC - Stacy)

I had three really cool experiences tonight. I saw Jenny Oaks Baker in concert. I met my dad's new girlfriend. And lastly I met 4 players from the Utah Wheelin Jazz who happen to be on temple hill as well. A very good night, that almost made up for what a waste of day it was.

raving rabbid competitions

Pleasant Hill, CA

Tonight I had dinner with some friends and had a weird conclusion come to my attention. I don't own a Wii. In fact, I am not a big video game kind of guy. That said, I have Wii Mii's on 5 different consoles. (Ben/Alyssa, Debbie, my Dad, Katie, and I assumed someone else's role where I live now). Even more interesting to me is I can track my different hair styles through 4 of those places as each Mii is a little different hair wise.

Dancing Talent

Antioch, CA

I went to what I can only describe as a "Talent Show" tonight put on by high schoolers tonight. Some (like the girl who will get uploaded for VOTW) had a lot of talent. Others, I felt bad clapping because that might give them the wrong message about continuing into a career of performing. I was proud of them to get on stage, but maybe some of the performers tonight should consider other out lets.

I went to a birthday party tonight and played a video game. I hadn't played a video game in over 18 months, so of course I lost.

Prizes

San Leandro, CA

I went to a poker fund raiser/birthday party Saturday night. The adult coordinator for the power soccer team has a yearly birthday poker bash where he asks for donations to BORP. BORP has different companies that have donated items for fund raising purposes. So tonight there were prizes for playing. I took 5th place for both times we played so I got the beanie and the two tickets to Six Flags. (Sorry Dad: If I could have lasted to fourth place I could have gotten the Saber Cat Tickets. Oh well.)

The third item is the parting gift everyone got.

Harry Potter

Antioch, CA

I went to a game night at a friends place tonight. This is right before I lost at Scene It Harry Potter. I got most of every question wrong while the 11 year old next to me missed only one question.

Sorry for the blur - but my camera didn't want to work last night. I think it knew of the occasion: Post 300.

Well today just sucked. I was rooting for the two teams that lost. Now we have a super bowl made up of the New York Giants and this team that are known cheaters.
